Main Roles and Responsibilities

  • The LOTO OFFICER will assist the LOTO coordinator to Audit a series of procedures and control documents to mitigate hazards which include:
  • Mechanical isolation from energy source(s)
  • Ensure that mechanical LOTO procedure is consistently followed
  • Carry out daily inspections and regular audits on LOTO procedure implementation
  • General duties include but are not limited to the following:
    • Verify that IDC is accurately followed for isolation / de-isolation
    • Verify that isolation log books are kept up to date
    • Carry out regular audits on the mechanical LOTO procedure implementation
    • Provide feedback to LOTO coordinator and any key issues or concerns raised at site
    • Confirm that locks, blinds and tags are in place as required by procedure and permits


  • At a minimum the ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in relevant Engineering discipline;
  • 5 to 10 years of experience
  • Read and understand mechanical, electrical drawings
  • Read and understand P&IDs
  • Software: MS Office, Adobe, Lotus Notes
  • Should have knowledge mechanical systems as well as isolation means
  • Knowledge in preparing LOTO documents
  • Knowledge of shutdown procedure, safety materials and can identify documents & drawings
